Output(O/P) devices

After the process we get result result in the form of output. Set of devices used for providing Result or information are called output device.
  • Monitor
  • Printer
  • Plotters
  • Speaker
  • Projector
  • Headphone etc
Note: Most common used Output devices are Monitor and Printer

Monitor

The output of the monitor is called soft copy. The output displays on the monitor is generated with dot, and each dot is called Pixel. The distance between two pixel is called dot pitch.
Types of monitor

1. CRT monitor (Cathode Ray Tube)

It is heavy in weight
It takes more space
It consume more power

2.LCD (Liquid crystal Display)

It is light in weight
It need less space
Takes less power
Lcd and CRT monitor, LCD vs CRT screen

Printer

printer, output device
Printer

The output of the printer is called Hard copy
Printer Resolution measured in DPI(Dot per inch)

Printer Types

  1. Laser Printer: Tonner(powder) for the printing
  2. Inkjet Printer: Ink will be used for the printing
  3. Dot matrix printer: Small pins will be used for the printing

Computer History and Generations

Computer History Ancient Computers: The most ancient computer was Abacus. It was first automatic computer which was used for the purpose of calculating and counting. Blaise Pascal invented the Pascaline. this device could perform simple addition, subtraction multiplication division. Modern Computers Charles Babbage: On 19th century (1837) English mathematician Charles Babbage created a machine for calculation purpose. He named it as a Analytical Engine.   Charles Babbage considered as " The father of computer/the father of modern day computing" Computer Generations: First Generation Computer (1940-1956) Vaccum tubes  (valves) were used Second Generation Computers: (1956-1963)   Transistors were used More speed as compared to first generation. Third Generation computer (1964-1971) Integrated circuits (IC) were used Speed increased as compared to previous generations. It never became warm.
